Double hook again
Yesterdays fishing was a bit slower as there is not so much tidal move in the water. We caught 3 Cod and 3 Coalfish with 10.5 , 7 and 4kg. The 2 biggest came in a double hook, this time with me getting the bigger and trolling was the method again.

Trolling was the deal

After one day with bad result and a day off due to bad weather we decided to do some trolling with big Rapala-Wobbler around high tide in the afternoon. After 2 hours searching we found the fish close do a small skär. In 2 hours we caught 3 big Coalfish with 2x 9 and 6.5 kg as well as 9 Cod and 1 Pollack. I was doing the fishing while Gretel was driving the boat, real Teamwork.

Living like the tide!

Fishing in Norway means living like the tide. Usually we fish with incoming water during the night.
Last evening we went out at 9.00 PM and came back at 2.00 AM going to bed at 4.00 AM.
The fish started really biting after midnight, we caught 4 Cod , 1 Pollack and 1 Haddock (Schellfisch) and Gretel did it again with a Cod of 10 kg. Originally she had a double on but 1 got of in midway.

Hitra, Norway

On Friday last week we started our trip to Hitra, Norway. We left in pouring rain and found a lot of roads bloked in Norway due to the same reason, but nevertheless we made it to Sandstad without a lot of delay. The fist days of fishing were just average with some Codfish and others. We tried several times the spot of last years Coalfish success and today finally we met them. In just one hour we caught 3 nice fish weighing 12, 8 and 3 kg as well as some medium sized Cod. So we hope that the good fishing will continue as the weather prediction for the next days looks good.

Spring salmon season over
Today we pulled the boat out of the water in Simrishamn and went back to Mossen. The last 2 days gave only one fish each in the 5 kg class. But anyhow this season has been the best ever I experienced in the Baltic Sea so far and the amount of juvenile salmon gives a very good outlook of the years to come should the overall situation remain or improve, we'll see.
Our next fishing destination will be Hitra in Norway in mid June, before we need a few days rest and have to acquire some freezing capacities.

2 salmon 10+ and Seatrout 8.2 kg

After 2 days with to much wind I went out today around noon time and had a great fishing. In just a few hours I caught 2 salmon of 10.8 and 10.5 kg as well as a nice Seatrout of 8.2 kg which is my new personal best and a salmon of 3 kg. The south western wind has now moved the fish to their traditional places in front of Simrishamn.

Salmon 10.5 kg

Yesterday was the first day of the annual Fishing Competition in Simrishamn. I caught 1 salmon of 10.5 kg and lost 2 good ones in heavy water. Today I fished only a few hours as the wind was to hard later on. I had only one strike and nothing in the boat, the first day without fish. The fish are now very much one the move and you need a bit luck to hit them at the right moment and place. The next 2 days will be to much wind for fishing.

"Full Hand"

Todays fishing result, 5 salmon from 3 to 7 kg and 2 lost ones. I fished a hot spot with my friends from Team "Reel Fun" which yielded a lot of fish. We had a real race which lasted almost 3 hours.
Yesterdays fishing was slow and gave only a Seatrout of 5kg.
The picture of the day with the catch is a tribute to my wife, who is doing all the logistics on land while I'm on the water.

Full Pott at 09.45 AM

I went out at 6.00 o'clock, started fishing at 6.30 and had 3 fish in the boat after 20 minutes, than 2 hours nothing. Around 9.30 I went back to the spot of the morning and got a Fivehook, one went of immediately, one was only 58cm and the others were 7, 6 and 4 kg, Full Pott and back in the harbor around noon.
The next 2 days will be no fishing because of the wind and a needed rest.
