Mackerel fever

Yesterday I have been out to the West Coast with a friend for Mackerel fishing.
We hit them straight away, first cast of the rods gave "Full House" (6 fish) for both of us.
In 4 hours fishing we caught a total of 250+, the cleaning took the same time.

Hitra

We're now 10 days on Hitra, Norway for sea fishing. The fishing has been good for Cod and Pollack,  only the big Coalfish are a bid rare this year. Biggest fish up to now was a Cod weighing 13 kg caught by Gretel an some 8 kg by me and a Coalfish of 9 kg.

Roe bucks and boar

After a very poor fishing in the Baltics due to storm, coming back winter weather, little fish which were not feeding and a few nice days on Vänern we went for our first Roe buck and boar hunt of the 2016 season on Usedom with very good success.
I could shoot 2 young management bucks and 2 nice boar of 40 and 75 kg, so a lot of meat as a compensation for little fish.

2 salmon

Today I caught 2 salmon, 5 & 3.5 kg as well as one small, one fettfenna and one lost. Yesterday was nothing,  1 trout on Monday and 3 salmon and 1 trout on Sunday together with my neighbor, all fish between 3 and 5 kg. So Väneren is finished for now, we're moving to the South to fish the Baltic Sea.

Salmon season started

On Tuesday I started my spring salmon season on lake Väneren with 1 salmon of 5kg.
Today I could get 1 salmon of 6.5kg and 1 trout of 6kg, the fish came in a double hook, as well as 2 small ones.

Another boar

Last Friday I was back to Usedom, same location as last time, 5 boar entered the baiting spot at 11:00 PM, I could get one of them.

First successful hunt of the year

After being skunked several times by the boar in our area I finally could hit back on Saturday.
At 9:00 PM 2 young boar entered the baiting spot where I was hunting that evening, they stood broadside, congruent so that a single shot could strike them down both.

Geese hunt

First weekend geese hunting, got 5 white fronted geese although the weather was pretty poor and the number of birds in our area isn't that high yet.

Moose hunt 2015, "family slam" completed

Today was the 3rd and final day of our this years moose hunt in Värmland. In the final drive I could shoot the calf which was left on the quota, after having a missed opportunity on the second drive today. With the calf I could further complete my "family slam" having now shot a moose in 3 consecutive years, a bull, a cow and and now a calf.
The only pity is that our quota is now down to 1 adult and 1 calf only and the overall  moose population down by 50%, thanks to the wolves pest in Värmland.

Even more ducks, boar, roe buck

Last Friday my friend and I could shoot 1 boar each from the same group. Saturday morning I got 6 Mallard and a Roe buck on Sunday morning.

More ducks

5 ducks and a roe deer doe were the result of weekends hunt.
