Last evening, wild boar again

Last evening we went back to the river Danube area, looking for some wild boar again. First we saw an unexpected buck, but it was to nervous moving around so it was impossible to aim at him. Later some adult boar which didn't come into shooting range and 2 chasing deer close to the stand. In late dawn finally  3 young boar entered the baiting spot and I could shoot one of them.

Fourth morning, buck 4

Third day closed with a heavy thunderstorm and much needed rain as well as some cooler temperatures afterwards, so we expected some improvement in deer activities.
We went out again at 4.00 AM heading to an area where we had seen some deer on the days before.
We saw a doe not far from us but no buck with her. Some calling followed and we could see a buck crossing the field heading towards us but stopped some 200m away from us and turned around going along a treeline and showing us his back. We went to the other side of the treeline seeing him approaching us in high speed, my guide stopped him by a call and I could shoot him.

Third day, foxes

On the third day heat was approaching its peak with temperature close to 40° C, the deer were not moving at all, the only what was available were some foxes, so I shot 2 of them.

Second evening, wild boar hunt

On the second evening I had an appointment with another guide for some wild boar hunt in another area close to river Danube. We actually didn't see a lot of activities but short before darkness a boar showed up on a road close to the stand and was shot.

Second day, buck 3

After having collected the second buck, we went to a sunflower field not far away to look for another buck which was supposed to be around in that vicinity. We waited quit some time calling again, than a buck showed up coming out of the sunflowers but being nervous turning around back into the sunflowers, before it entered I could pay him a shot. We needed some search but could find him in the sunflowers.

Second day, buck 2

On the second day we went out at 4.00 AM, expecting some early activities of the deer. It was still dark at the time we arrived at our stand. In approaching dusk we saw some deer, but no shootable buck with them.
My guide was using again the buck call to attract a buck to our area and soon a good buck showed up around 50m away, coming out of the vegetation. We classified it as a good one and I paid him a shot, he went down at the spot.

Annual Roebuck hunt in Hungary, first buck

Beginning of August was it time again for our annual Roebuck hunting trip to Hungary. We arrived on the 1st of August late afternoon and my guide was waiting for me already, so we went out to the hunting area soon after. As the temperature was more than 35° C we went to a stand which was in the shadow close to a corn field. In the first hour we saw 2 does and a young buck, my guide was calling for the bigger ones and finally a good buck showed up in 40m distance and was shot at the spot.

Lawsuit against "HAV's" trolling restrictions

Trolling guides like Per Lundberg, Wildwater and Johan Abelsson, as well as some other sport fishing organisations will file a lawsuit against the unacceptable restrictions against trolling in Swedish waters introduced by "HAV".
Every Troller who is interested in protecting his sport and his investment should support them to force a change in HAV's policy.

Everybody should take the chance to pay them a call or even a visit to discuss their brainless activities.

Trolling to be outlawed in swedish Baltic waters!

According to information from "Sportfishing News" is that Bastard "Rydgren" and his companion's from HAV going to to outlaw Trolling Fisher in the Baltics from the 1st of August in Swedish Waters as they are planning now seriously to stop fishing for Salmon with "Fettfena", which they trade as "wild ones".

With this Trolling Fisher will be the only ones, which can not  take "fettfenna" salmon, as all others like Fly fisher in the rivers, the commercial fishing gangsters and every body else can continue doing so!

Finally it looks that Trolling will move to Danish, Finnish or German Waters or just ignore that nonsense!!

Salmon 12kg

I went out early today as strong wind was forecasted for the afternoon. But the fishing was very poor in the morning, no strike until 1:00 o'clock PM. So I decided to move towards the harbor as the wind increased. Approx. 4 miles before the shore I got a double hook. While I was fighting the fish, 2 more salmon stroke in another double hook, a big mess in high waves, finally I could net 2 salmon, one 12 kg the other 5kg, 2 got lost.

A quit day after yesterday's hook race gave 2 salmon weighing 9.5 and 5 kg as well as 3 small ones.

Full hand again

This morning I went back to the spot from yesterday to find the water cooled down an the fish gone.
Circling around I got the first strike at 10.00, a Salmon of 5 kg, than 3 hours nothing, at 1:00 o'clock the second, another 5 kg. In that area I saw some big fish on the sonar but nothing happened further until 15 minutes to 3:00 PM. As I approached the waypoint again "Inferno" broke loose on the boat, screaming reels everywhere. 3 Downrigger- and 1 Surface rod went off, a 4 hook! 3 fish could be netted, 1 was lost, the weight  9.4 , 8.4, 7.4 kg.
All fish were caught on Sporting Örebro's "Ismo Magnum Deep Water Collection" in Copper.

3 salmon in the 5-6 kg range was the harvest of today's fishing, as well as 4 small ones and 3 lost from which the last one was a cracker taking 200m line in one run. The fish have moved closer to the shore and will be hopefully around again tomorrow.

Mondays hot spot was cooled down after 2 days wind. Some fish were left but most of them from minor size. I got  1 salmon from 6kg, lost 2 and had 7 small ones. Tomorrow again too much wind.

First day, full hand

First day fishing gave 5 salmon between 5.5 and 8.5 kg as well as 3 released and one lost. I had 4 double hooks and a single. In the morning the water was rough but from 11:00 onwards perfect.
The next 2 days will be too windy for fishing.

Fun or frustration?

Some weeks to go before my trolling season starts in Simrishamn this year.

The question is will it be fun or just frustration about "fettfenas".

The next question is, can there be any fun as long as "Rydgrens" roam the planet?

Even if somebody means there might be a light at the end of the tunnel in sight it could be just a "panorama wallpaper", or does anybody know about restrictions which have been withdrawn voluntary.

One remark to the "Gumminät" group, don't forget to cut off the fettfena before you release the fish.

Save the keepable salmon in the Baltic Sea

This years trolling season in the baltics is approaching its peak soon. Right at that moment the fettfena discussion from last year pops up again with the already known actors.

There is the lunatic who is writing the proposal, somehow mentally handicapped, as he is coming back with the same nonsense again, just like a Zombie who doesn't want to stay in his mud hole.

And the others who will be affected and don't disagree, instead implementing the not existing rules already in anticipatory obedience, catch and release is their answer.

In case the nonsense comes into force it can be a solution to keep some salmon for the smoker in the baltics, but only if the fettfena is cut off before the fish is released!

End of the year hunting trip to Hungary

After Christmas it was time again for our annual end of the year hunting trip to Hungary.
We traveled on the 26th and arrived late afternoon.
First outing was on 27th evening with no game seen.
Next day was small game driven hunt in my friends hunting block in Austria. 13 hunter, partly with dogs participated. We started with some breakfast and left than for the first drive, which was successful for me with a Pheasant shot as well as a Fox. After the second drive we had to take a brake due to pouring rain and continued in the afternoon with eight hunter only, I could shoot another Pheasant as well as 2 Hare.
On 29th we had our annual small game hunt with the hunting group from Hungary. Whole day hunting gave 5 Hare and 128 Pheasant from which I shot 7.

After that we had several outings for red deer , which were without success only 1 wild boar was further harvested, but nevertheless a good hunting trip not at least due to perfect weather with a lot of sun.
