Last Day on Vänern

The last day gave 2 trout, 5 + 3.5 kg and 3 small ones. The boat is already out of the water and Wednesday in moving day.

Nothing changed

One more day without fish in the boat, only 2 strikes without result. Tomorrow will be the last day
fishing in Vänern before we move to Simris.

The wind came back

The wind is back but a little bit to much in the morning. We fished yesterday's hot spots, but the fish were blown away, so one more day without fish.

From bad to worse

The weather is still the same and today was the first day without fish contact. It can get better only.

No improvement

The spot I fished the last day's was empty today, I got only 2 undersized and one strike. Now the weather is about to change, hopefully the fish behavior as well.

Still sunny and calm

The sun is still shinning and no wind, which makes the fishing not easier. Today I had one strike that gave 1 salmon of 4,5 kg. But at least the baitfish in the Dalbergsaa are biting, so tomorrow will be the first tour with "Löja", which should be much better in this conditions than fishing with wobbler.

Another one fish day

Today's fishing was similar than yesterday's, it gave 1 salmon with 4 kg, one small one and a wild salmon to be released.

Back to normal

After the excitement of yesterday, we're back to normal. Today I caught 1 salmon, 4 kg and lost one during the netting with a broken hook. The fishing is quite difficult as the fish are not feeding, the stomach was empty with all salmon.

Big fish day

The lake was like a mirror, the sun was shinning from a blue sky, a weather for getting a nice sun tan or play a round of golf, rather than fishing for salmon. But the luck and the size was with me.
After having lost one fish right at noon and some unsuccessful time, I decided to change places to another spot, where some other boats already caught fish. Soon after arriving I got a fish on the 12m downrigger rod. A tough fight followed and the third netting attempt was successful. The fish was measured 95cm and weighted in the harbor being 10.05 kg. The second biggest I've caught in Vänern up to date and a real big fish day.

Early morning bite

Today's trip started early as well as the bite. Until 10 AM, I got 1 salmon, 5 kg, 3 undersized and one pike, who swallowed the wobbler. A major surgery was needed to recover the valuable bait.
After that, nothing happened until I called it a day, at 4 PM.

Afternoon outing

The afternoon outing gave 1 salmon, 5 kg and one wild salmon from the same size which had to go back to the lake. The water was calm after a windy morning, the sun shinning , which was nice for fishing but not for catching.

No fishing today

No fishing today, too much wind from North-East. Even the baitfish in the Dalbergsaa were not biting. For tomorrow the weather forecast looks better.

4 hours fishing only

Today I fished only 4 hours due to a cold and strong northern wind. I caught 1 undersized trout and lost one good fish.

First day fishing, 2 fish

This morning we launched the boat. The first trip gave 2 fish, 1 salmon 5 kg, 1 trout 3.5 kg and 2 lost fish. The fish took Bomber and Fastrac Wobbler on the surface.

Reached Home

After a long , 5 days journey, 11000 km by plane, 250 km by train and finally 1500 km by car, we have reached today Mellerud.
